Why Three38, Why all the flavor?

We’re not exactly sure what the genesis to this is to be honest. Was it our passion for great food? Was it that chicken wing eating contest in ‘89? We were there you know. There at the beginning. There when you could buy chicken wings at the grocer for zero bucks. That’s right, $0.00 bucks (CAD). Not a bad thing, but who wants the wing anyhow? Great for the soup pot they say! Well, somewhere in New York they disagree. Somewhere out there they coated a crispy fried chicken wing in a little hot sauce and boom, chickens everywhere were instantly under priced. The wing frenzy had begun! Hangovers will be cured and shirts will be stained. But I digress. This is not about the origin of the mighty hot wing, but rather the motivation behind Three38. Which brings us to the first time we created our homemade sauce!

The sauce, made in an attempt to rescue an aging crop of habanero peppers, was about to be, well, sauce. A few weeks fermenting (with a selection of other garden favorites) some straining, a little blending some magic words and shazam! Life as we knew it was still the same! Only now we had way too much hot sauce. Well, a little sharing and the word was out. Tabasco brand hot sauce was born! Only, well, Tabasco it seems had been in use. Utter deflation! We threw our hands up, completely devastated and quit the hot sauce business all together. So much for that idea! Goodbye flavor town. We will miss you.

But Seriously folks, Three38 Flavor Co. was founded in 2021 and is slowly making it’s way to market. Little pieces at a time.
